Small Intimate Backyard Wedding

The perfect wedding may be the one that doesn’t change or get altered just because a photographer is there. This wedding was that. Lily and Zac and their people just valuing moments. This is a documentary style wedding photographer’s dream. One where the value is not necessarily placed in the photos themselves, but making sure that you are making time and space for your loved ones, and a photographer you trust is there to document them.

You can see that in their wedding gallery. Even in moments that are normally heavily posed, like traditional family photos, these two made sure to love and celebrate their people.

The Style

I expected nothing less from Lily and Zac in their styling of the bridal and groom look. I think if any other bride texted me a photo of her bridal look and it was an all white pantsuit I would have been surprised. Zac did not see her before her walk down the aisle, and his reaction to her did not disappoint. It was a moment that I know neither of them will ever forget.

The Backyard Venue

A metal ceremony alter piece was constructed for this wedding in a small family backyard. It made such a beautiful look for the ceremony, but also for so many of our photos before and after. I think my favorite part of the backyard though, was the long table designs for the reception. I know that it sounds silly, but one of my favorite things about small weddings is actually the receptions. I know that it is such an obvious thing, but the tables being so close together is just such a more intimate feeling.
