I think engagement sessions are pretty important, which is why every wedding package I have includes ones complimentary. Basically, if you book a wedding with me you get a free engagement session. So removing it from your package actually doesn’t save you any money.

I do these complementary in my pricing because engagement sessions are so much more than just an opportunity for you to get some good pictures or have photos to put on wedding save the dates and/or RSVP cards. It’s a chance for us to meet in person outside of our initial meeting and get used to working with one another. I have grown to feel like the engagement session can be such an important part of building trust. Most couples have never had their photos taken professionally before, so it can be about making all three of us comfortable with working and documenting moments together.
